Top 5 Songs to play when the function dies down – with Mocha Desires

Shepherdstown, W.Va., – Songs come and go over the years but some are here to stay. No Hands by Waka Flocka Flame was released in 2010 and is still a staple in any playlist needed to hype people up at party (before COVID-19 or in the privacy of your home or car.)

I spoke with local DJ, Terrance Anderson, better known as Mocha Desires on what he would play to get a party going and he gave me his list of classics, here is what he recommends:

Chief Keef via New York Times.
  1. Faneto – Chief Keef

“This first song here is a party classic. The king Chief Keef was not playing around when he made this song. If you not in the pit when this song come on, you might as well leave the party immediately.”

2. Dreams And Nightmares – Meek Mill

“Look, play this song at a party and you will have everyone think about their life choices. At this point, this song isn’t even a song. It’s more like scripture from a holy book. The switch up in the middle of the song is something I can’t even put into words. Meek Mill says it best in the song saying, “Hold on wait a minute, yall thought I was finished?”

3. Sasuke – Lil Uzi Vert

“Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti are the greatest rappers of all time. There I said it. Play this at the party and you will and you will have EVERYONE hype. Especially  if you play this song with your friends around. This song is about how close Uzi and Playboi Carti are. So this song is easy to sing along to with your friends!”

4. R.I.P. – Playboi Carti

“Another song that makes you wanna throw elbows in the pit. This song has to be the definition for party songs. Easy to listen to and easy lyrics to sing along to. All together perfect song.”

And rightfully so, he saved the best for last.

5. No Hands – Waka Flocka Flame

“Okay. Waka Flocka Flame. The king of party songs. I especially love this song because after seeing Flocka live at Big Bucks Casino in Martinsburg West Virginia, it literally was the most hype show I’ve been to. It gave me a whole new perspective on this song. This is a MUST to play at a party.”

Mocha Desires also hosts a radio show on WSHC Radio every Friday from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. where he plays his own mixes and current favorite songs you can tune in from your computer or radio.
