On Jan. 13, unofficial sources claim that over 300,000 people from across the United States flocked towards the nation’s capital, Washington D.C., to show their support for the Palestinian people.

This came after mass demonstrations were organized around the globe to demand a ceasefire in the ongoing Hamas-Israeli war since Oct. 7, when Hamas invaded Southern Israel, killing 1,200 Israelis, roughly 800 of whom were civilians, according to the Israeli Defense Force.

Since then, Israel launched a war against Hamas, which is diminishing Israel’s reputation globally as harsh critics call Israel’s conduct in the war as potential war crimes and breaches of international law.

The country of South Africa even took Israel to the International Court of Justice, the highest legal court of the UN in an ongoing case alleging that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people.

Israel has killed over 25,000 Palestinians according to the Hamas-run government of Gaza. an overwhelming majority of the deaths are civilian. Israel’s actions in the war led to the displacement of a majority of the entire 2.2 million population of Gaza, bombing all types of urban infrastructure and even Israeli and UN-designated safe zones.

Israel has also killed at least 70 Palestinian journalists and their families operating in Gaza, as well as over 100 United Nations personnel and hundreds of health workers.

The Pro-Palestinian demonstrations have only gotten larger as more news from Gaza reaches the public.
