Relay for Life on track for Friday event

Shepherd University’s Relay for Life will take place this Friday, beginning at 4 p.m. in the Wellness Center and lasting until 7 a.m. Saturday. This event is sponsored by the Student Community Service.

Shepherd’s Relay for Life is an overnight event where students and community members join in on raising money to help fight cancer. The event is an overnight walk in which teams of students camp out around the Shepherd University track, and one person from each team must be walking around the track during the 12-hour event. Teams raise money by pledges from supporters. All proceeds support the American Cancer Society.

Since 2003, the students and university have supported the American Cancer Society by raising more than $500,000.
