(THE PICKET) – Monte Cater, head coach of the Shepherd University Rams football team, announced the 2015 team captains this week.
These players, who were picked by their teammates, will be the team leaders on the field. The captains include senior fullback Jon Hammer, a second team All-MEC selection in 2014; senior defensive end Shaniel Jenkins, a first team All-MEC selection in 2014; senior defensive back Philip Rhoden, who recorded 14 tackles and an interception in 2014; junior defensive back Tre Sullivan, who recorded 14 tackles in 2014, and Junior quarterback Jeff Ziemba, who threw for 1,711 yards and had 14 touchdowns in 2014.
“It’s nice to have guys who have experience in big games and big situations leading the team on the field,” said Coach Cater of the captains.
