Homecoming barbecue and corn-hole set for Monday

(THE PICKET)—A Homecoming week barbecue, free to all Shepherd University students, will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, near Gardiner and Kenamond halls from 4:30 – 7 p.m.

Shepherd students will need to present their Rambler to attend.

The barbecue will be provided by dining hall services. The food will include burgers and hot dogs and will revolve around Homecoming’s 50 States theme. There will be ingredients from all over the country.

The barbecue is meant to replace the homecoming dance that used to be a part of homecoming festivities. The dance was unsuccessful; it is believed that more students will want to attend the barbecue.

Phi Kappa Tau will also sponsor a corn-hole tournament alongside the barbecue. There is a $10 fee to register a team with two people per team. The winning team will receive $100.

Half of the money earned through the tournament will be donated to Serious Fun, a charity that sends kids in hospice care to summer camp.
