The media constantly obsess about celebrities dating fellow celebrities. If you are celebrity-athlete Tiger Woods, 37, dating fellow celebrity-athlete Lindsey Vonn, 28, you get twice the amount of media obsession.
After his very famed 2010 divorce from Elin Noredgren and the subsequent news about the 14 plus mistresses he kept secret, Woods is back in the dating game as of March 18.
His newest love interest is 28-year-old skier Lindsey Vonn. Vonn is also known for her outstanding athletic abilities; in fact, in 2010 she won the gold medal for skiing at the Beijing Olympics. According to hollywoodlife.com, Vonn isn’t fazed by Woods’s past.
The athlete has even been quoted as saying that she isn’t “freaked out” because they’ve been friends for a long time. They met through mutual friends in the skiing community. Vonn has even been teaching Woods’s children how to ski.
To me, Tiger Woods is a joke. I understand that he is a legend on the golf course, but in my mind, he is a legend in a totally different and negative sense.
The man is now best known for his numerous extramarital affairs when he was married to former model Elin Noredgren and not so much for his almost innate golfing talent. We all remember the infamous car-in-tree accident Woods had on Thanksgiving in 2009; it started the entire scandal that is Tiger Woods.
I look at Vonn, a professional woman it seems, and wonder what makes this man attractive? Vonn looks as if she’s got her life together but insists on dating the world’s most notorious womanizer. Not only am I confused but also I am anxious to see where it goes.
According to foxnews.com, one of Woods’s former mistresses has some advice for Vonn. Devon “XXX” James, a porn star and Woods’s 16th mistress, tells foxnews.com that Vonn should “watch her back” and that “she is not alone.”
Apparently James believes that Woods hasn’t changed his ways. She also said she was surprised that Woods went for Vonn because she has “a bigger head than his.”
I see Vonn as a successful young woman who is still vulnerable enough to believe that Woods is really a “changed” man. The man cheated on his model wife (with whom he has two young children) with Botox filled, scantily clad, wannabe celebrities, who all believed him when he said they were “his.” Vonn can surely do better.
As for Noredgren, she is also back in the dating game. Better yet, with a West Virginia native! Noredgren is rumored to be dating billionaire Chris Cline. According to abcnews.com, the 53-year-old is the heir to his coal mining family and is worth 1.2 billion dollars. Not too shabby, Elin!
I do not follow golf, but I do know that Woods is still a valuable player. Good for him for remaining so, but really, my only hope for him is that he is a new man and that he respects and values his new love interest.
