Cheerleading Wins Nationals

The Lady Rams cheerleading team brought home a national title.

Last weekend the Lady Rams cheerleading team won first place in the Elite D2- All Girl Cheer Division championship at the National Harbor. “It has been 10 years since Shepherd Cheerleading competed, so I decided that it was finally time that the girls do something for themselves,” said Coach Lindsey Bordovsky.

Bordovsky is going into her third season as head coach. She graduated in 2010 she cheered for the Rams for four years and from 2008-10 she was captain.

The cheer team seems to go unnoticed. They cheer at football games and men and women’s basketball games all home and some away playoff games. The girls throw amazing stunts at these games and are worth watching for their hard work.

“It has absolutely been my pleasure to be a part of the growth of this program, from where it was to where it’s headed to,” stated Bordovsky.

Tryouts for 2013-14 will be held on April 6th and 7th in the Butcher Center at 11a.m. There will be a tryout clinic which tryout material will be taught. You must attend both days and bring proof of insurance. For detailed information visit Shepherdrams.com/cheerleading.
