Shepherd University has been named 2017 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs, Military Spouse, and STEM Jobs®.
Victory Media connects with employers and students from the military and provides service members and their families a list of their Military Friendly® Schools to help them select the best college, university, or trade school to receive the education and training they want.
“It’s important for our community to welcome everyone,” said Mary Beth Myers, veterans support coordinator. “We are proud to have this title as a military friendly school.”
There’s almost 200 students at Shepherd who are active military, veterans, and dependents. Shepherd University also has a Veterans Center that offers students from or associated with the military a place to study and seek support.
“This is great!” April Shwe, a sophomore business administration major, said. “Those who serve this country deserve a great education and it’s nice to see Shepherd provide this. I think it may also help draw in more students who serve in the military to come here.”
Shepherd University will be featured in the 2017 Annual Guide To Military Friendly® Schools along with other schools given this title.
