(THE PICKET)—Shepherd University students are preparing for a slate of final exams to end the fall semester.
After this week’s exams, students return home for a multi-week break over the winter holidays, returning for the reconvening of classes on Jan. 11.
Ian McCauley, a 22-year-old senior majoring in political science, was breathing easy about the semester’s end.
“Finals week itself has never been a stressful time for me. It’s usually the week before that’s the worst for me because that’s when all my papers are due. I am actually currently working on my last college paper and it will feel nice to actually get it done,” McCauley said.
Graham Scott, a 21-year-old senior majoring in political science, looks at the nearing of the semester’s end as the best of times and the worst of times.
“It’s the best time of the year because Christmas is coming up but it’s the worst time of the year because the biggest assignments and tests are due. I’m always emotionally conflicted,” Scott said.
Mariah Merriweather, a 23-year old graduating senior majoring in political science, looked back fondly on her time as a Shepherd student. She says she is thankful for the opportunities Shepherd has provided her, mentioning her participation on the school’s debate team and participation in competitions.
“I am glad I have done the things I did while at Shepherd. It was wonderful being a Shepherd student,” Merriweather said.
