(THE PICKET)- The Shepherd Rams fell to #24-ranked University of Charleston in doubleheader action on Sunday, April 24.
The Golden Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the victory in game one. The Rams went scoreless on three hits and Tara Hanson took the 2-0 loss for Shepherd.
Charleston started the nightcap strong with four runs in the first, one in the second and one run in the fifth inning. The Rams plated one run in the sixth on an RBI-grounder by Kaitlyn Konopka to score Morgan Cox. The Golden Eagles downed Shepherd 6-1. Kaitlin Munda gave up 11 hits and took the loss for the Rams.
Shepherd, the Mountain East Conference North Division champions, will face UVA-Wise on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the first day of the Mountain East Conference Tournament in Troutville, VA.
