(THE PICKET)- The Rams added to their win streak when they traveled to West Liberty on Saturday, March 26, to take on the Hilltoppers in a double-header.

In game one, Shepherd was trailing 0-1 until the fifth inning when they plated two runs on a home run by Kaitlin Munda and a single by Morgan Cox who later scored on a wild pitch.

In the sixth inning, Rachel Taylor scored on a single by Cox to give the Rams a 3-1 victory. Junior pitcher Tara Hanson was credited with the victory for the Rams.

In the second game of the double-header, Shepherd took a 4-0 lead in the second inning. Alexandra Witt hit a two-run double to intensify the rally. West Liberty answered back scoring one run in the bottom of the second.

Witt singled to center field in the fourth inning for an RBI, giving the Rams a 5-2 lead. Rams battled on in the fifth with Cox doubling to left center, scoring Munda for a 6-2 lead.

The Hilltoppers were unable to answer back, scoring only one run in the bottom of the fifth. The Rams took a 6-2 over West Liberty. Munda earned the win for the Rams on the mound.

The Rams sit undefeated in the Mountain East Conference at 7-0 and 13-6 overall. This series win gives Shepherd a five-game win streak.

The Rams look to add to that streak on Wednesday, March 30, when they host West Virginia Wesleyan College for a double-header at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
