Shepherd routes Davis and Elkins to improve to 3-0

(THE PICKET)—The Shepherd Rams men’s basketball team improves to 3-0 with a dominating 100-75 victory over the Davis and Elkins College Senators on Wednesday, Nov. 18.

The Rams fell behind 3 to 0 early, but they quickly went on a 12-0 run over the next 5:30 to take an early commanding lead and capture momentum that would carry them the entire came.

The Senators came within 4 points of the Rams at the 12:25 mark, but the Rams extended the lead again and continued to dominate the remainder of the half taking a 44-33 lead into halftime.

The Rams opened up the second half without missing a beat continuing to dominate the Senators up and down the court out-scoring them 56-42 in the second, earning Shepherd their third victory to open the season.

Steffen Davis, #2, had a historical night tying the Shepherd record for 3 pointers made in a game with 10. Davis finished the night with 35 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. AJ Carr added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals of his own.

The Rams hit the court again Saturday Nov. 21, in their first away game and Conference game against Glenville State University at 4 p.m.
