(THE PICKET) — As has been the story of this season for the Rams men’s basketball, a second half rally by their opponents has proven to be to much for Shepherd, most recently a 79-66 loss Saturday, Jan. 30, to the Concord University Mountain Lions.
As the game got underway both teams stayed close with the biggest lead being a 8 point Ram advantage at 23-15, which shrunk to a 3-point 34-31 lead going into halftime. Concord rallied in the second half and took a double-digit lead at 62-51 with 7:19 remaining. The Mountain Lions led by as many as 17 points in the second half and pulled away for the 79-66 victory.
Shepherd shot 36.4 percent from the floor with a 23.8 percent performance from three-point range. The Rams were nearly perfect from the line making 10-of-11 free throws
Senior forward Ryan McTarvish led the Rams with 17 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
The Rams tip off again Thursday Feb 4 at home against Wheeling Jesuit University
