The Rams (1-6) fell to West Chester (1-0) 15-6 on Thursday’s contest.On the road, the Rams seemed unfocused. Giving up two early runs, Shepherd fell behind early.
The Rams finally got on the board with a run in the third inning. The Rams needed a good defensive series to climb back in the game but could not deliver. Allowing five Golden Ram runs, the Rams opened the game in rough fashion.
Scoring four runs in the fifth inning, the Rams seemed to have found a spark but didn’t have an answer for the dominant offense of West Chester. The Golden Rams would go on to extend their lead and seal the game. West Chester was led by LF Zachary Sheranko with one run scored, two hits, and two RBI’s on five at bats.
The Rams were led by second baseman Jacob Carney with one run, three hits, and three RBI’s on five at bats.
The Rams are back in action on the road against East Stroudsburg University Feb. 26 at 12 p.m.
