Rams Volleyball secures road win over Notre Dame College to extend win streak to four

On Friday evening Shepherd (13-4) traveled to Notre Dame College (7-11) in search of win number 13 on the season. The Rams were successful in that effort, as they defeated the Falcons in four sets (27-25, 25-12, 22-25, 25-17).

The Rams also improved to 2-2 in Mountain East Conference action with Friday night’s road win. A few of the Rams top performers of the night were sophomore Cambreia Hill, sophomore Jessica Karcz, and sophomore Imani Major.

Outside hitter Hill led the Rams with a team high 15 kills with senior middle hitter Christine Jackson adding 12 kills. The kills proved vital to the outcome. Setter Karcz led had a game high 39 assists, repeatedly setting up teammates for quality chances.

Major registered a team leading 16 digs only trailing Notre Dame college’s Ali Kaeberlein with 19.

On the night, the Rams team had 10 aces, which proved the difference in the contest as Shepherd won by a 10-point margin compared to the Falcons six.

Sophomore middle hitter Seone Good also added five blocks in the Rams’ winning effort.

The Rams volleyball team has a quick turnaround in the schedule as they go up against Urbana on Saturday afternoon Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. in the second game of a four-game road stretch.
