Racist Graffiti Found In Byrd Science Center

(THE PICKET) — Offensive graffiti was found Wednesday in the first-floor men’s bathroom in the Byrd Science Center, according to Shepherd University police.

This marks the second time in a month graffiti was found on a wall in a University building. In December, racist graffiti was found in a Scarborough Library bathroom.

University police chief John McAvoy said in a Wednesday email to the University community that the graffiti “contained threats to racial groups” and is being investigated by campus police.

McAvoy was not available for comment on the incident. Graffiti found on the bathroom wall Wednesday included a slur to former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, support for President-elect Donald Trump, and “Allahu Akbar…Boom.”
