Earlier today a food vendor truck hit a stone wall causing 20 to 30 gallons of fuel oil to spill onto the sidewalk in front of the Student Center. An email sent to Shepherd University employees from James Vigil, Vice President for Administration, advises students and employees to avoid using King Street as crews work to clean up the spill.
“Colleagues,
Late this morning a food vendor truck delivering product to the Student Center hit a stone wall rupturing a small fuel oil tank that services the truck’s refrigeration unit. 20 – 30 gallons of fuel oil spilled onto the sidewalk in front of the Student Center. The spill is contained and emergency response teams are on site. Please avoid using King Street for the next couple of hours as crews are working to remove the truck and clean up the spill.
Thank you,
James Vigil
