(THE PICKET) – Shepherd Women’s Basketball came home from Notre Dame College with another loss in the scorebook. This loss takes the Rams’ record down to 5-18 overall and 4-13 in the Mountain East Conference.
Notre Dame scored first and kept that lead the entire game, keeping Shepherd from being able to take over. Going into halftime, the score was 44-37 in favor of the Falcons. Most would think a seven point deficit wouldn’t be too hard to come back from, but the Rams struggled doing just that. By the end of the third quarter, the Falcons were up by 21. The Rams didn’t do much to help their cause in the fourth quarter and they lost by 23, with the final score of 92-69 Falcons.
Morgan Arden led the Rams with 18 total points and a game-high five steals. She also had three assists.
Liz Myers added 12 points for the Rams and had a team-high nine rebounds. Elizabeth Moorman tossed in a career-high 11 points and Tiffany McKinney had nine.
The Rams connected on 44 percent from the floor, with a 27 percent performance from three-point range and hit on 57 percent of their free throws. Notre Dame connected on 53 percent of their field goals with a 38 percent effort from beyond the arc. The Falcons were also successful on 67 percent of their free throws.
Notre Dame had a 42-29 advantage in rebounding. Turnovers were even at 18 apiece.
The Rams travel to Urbana on Saturday for a 2 p.m. game.
