The Shepherd Rams men’s soccer team earned its first victory of the season Monday evening, in a high scoring affair against the Washington Adventist Shock.
The Rams took a 3-0 lead into halftime after goals from Brandon Muriel at the 10:33 mark, Anthony Wenner at the 27:51 mark, and a follow up goal by Justin Poole just a minute later.
Justin Marshall found the back of the net for Shepherd to open the second half extending the Rams lead to 4-0. The Shock added two late goals, but the deficit was too steep to overcome and the Rams held on to win 4-2.
Goalkeeper Alex Aleshire had seven saves on the day.
Shepherd was edged in the shot column 17-16.
The Rams will take the field again Thursday Sept. 22 when they take on East Stroudsburg at 4 p.m.
