(THE PICKET)-Â The Rams handed the Golden Eagles a 19-2 defeat in a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday, April 3.
In dominating fashion, 12 of the Rams scored at least one goal against Charleston’s goalie, Amberlyn Casas.
The Rams scored 10 goals in the first half while Casey Hickman manned the net, keeping the Golden Eagles scoreless. The Rams came out of halftime to score 9 more goals. Charleston managed to make two goals, but those came far too late in the game to make any bit of a difference.
Theresa Lang and Haley Price both scored three goals for the Rams. Courtney Matthews had two goals and four assists, while Erin Phelan added two goals and three assists. E. Phelan became the fourth player in program history to record 200 career points or more.
Hunter Morris had a goal and two assists in her first action of the season, while Alex Green had two goals and an assist.
Kelsey Phelan, Brooke Hunley, Courtney Schwiegerath, Kiana Miller, Chrissy Jarboe, and Sarah Wendt each scored a goal for the Rams. Hickman recorded six saves on the day.
The Shepherd Lacrosse team now sits at 3-6 overall and 1-0 in the Mountain East Conference. supThe Rams return to play on Thursday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
