Brown, Sullivan sign with Philadelphia Eagles

Former receiver Billy Brown and defensive back Tre’ Sullivan have signed as undrafted free agents with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Shepherd Rams’ football team is coming off their most historical season in school history. Led by a strong senior class, the Rams recorded a 13-1 record, ending their season in a NCAA Final Four loss to North Alabama.

The Ram offense was led by Division II Player of The Year, receiver Billy Brown. Brown is the Rams all-time leader in multiple wide receiver statistics. In 2016, Brown recorded an eye popping 99 receptions, 1580 yards, and 22 touchdowns. Brown was invited to the NFL Combine, and the East/West Shrine game where he added more positives to his resume’.

Fellow senior, Tre’ Sullivan, was a force for the Shepherd Rams’ defense his last two years as a starter. After converting from cornerback to full-time safety, Sullivan became a strong force for the Shepherd Rams, who won 26 games in two seasons. Sullivan’s senior campaign was incredible, as he earned All-MEC honors for his outstanding statistics and film. He recorded 74 tackles and 2 interceptions, and 3 blocked kicks. Tre’ Sullivan is the type of player that pops up on film because of his relentless efforts in making plays and just being around the ball.

Both Brown and Sullivan are now in the NFL and have a chance to make the roster of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are a team that has a need for offensive weapons, like Brown, to help a young quarterback in Carson Wentz, while Sullivan can aid a defense who lacked production in the defensive backfield. Sullivan now has a chance to learn from a player like Mike Jenkins, who he has a similar playing style as.
