The Shepherd University Lady Rams started their four game away trip splitting matches against Notre Dame College and Urbana University.
On Saturday, Oct. 25, the Lady Rams were able to top the Lady Blue Knights of Urbana three sets to one. Junior Taylor Allen and Senior Valerie Bour tied for a team-high 15 kills each, while freshman Kayleigh Helgesen came away with 13. Allen and Bour also recorded 12 digs respectively with junior Samantha Scroggins leading the way with 13.
Notre Dame College pulled off an upset over Shepherd on Friday, Oct. 24. The Lady Falcons sported a record of 5-15 going into the match, while the Lady Rams entered the match with a record of 15-7. The game ended in a sweep for Notre Dame College 3-0. Kayleigh Helgesen led the Lady Rams with seven kills and senior Kayla Motheral recorded six. Samantha Scroggins had a game-high 15 digs for Shepherd. Lindsay Shirilla finished with the most kills for Notre Dame College, recording eight, while Morgan Toman and Tawnia Almaraz recorded eight digs each for the Lady Falcons.
The Lady Rams are now 16-8 on the season and are in third place in the Mountain East Conference. The team continues the road trip on Tuesday, Oct. 28 against Fairmont State.
