Shepherd volleyball downed by Fairmont State

(THE PICKET)—The Rams volleyball team fell to the Fairmont State Falcons in five sets during an away game on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The Falcons gained a 22-25, 29-27, 18-25, 25-17, 15-10 victory.

Sophomore outside hitter Amanda Snowden and freshman middle blocker/right side Sophie Foster led the Rams with 12 kills each. Foster also added a match-high six blocks to help the Rams.

Junior outside hitter/right side Grace Simmons had 11 kills, while Samantha Scroggins added three aces, three blocks and two assists.

Cyera Dixon had 49 assists and 13 digs during the match, while sophomore libero Kelsey Anderson led the Rams with 21 digs. Senior outside hitter/opposite Anna Roper added 19 for the Rams.

The Falcons were led by Mackenzie Harrison who had 16 kills and three blocks. Jessica Furda contributed with 55 assists, two aces, two blocks and 16 digs.

With this loss, the Rams fall to 12-14 overall and 7-6 in the Mountain East Conference.

The Rams hit the court again on Friday, Nov. 6, when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan College for a 7 p.m. match.
