(THE PICKET)- Therapeutic herbs and botanical products can now be purchased in downtown Shepherdstown at The Tonic Herb Shop.
“I opened this shop because I believe there is a place and time that herbs can support health and wellness and I wanted to provide people with easy access to medicinal herbs,” shop owner Carmela Cesare said.
Cesare and her partner Ashley Davis both have formal education in therapeutic herbalism.
They chose Shepherdstown to open their shop because of the variety of people located here.
The shop is broken down into different categories, such as the body systems, women’s health, mental and emotional health.
“We don’t diagnose, treat or cure anything,” Cesare said, “We only offer alternative options to support health and wellness.”
The shop offers different drinks, soups and salads, homeopathic vitamins, and different herbs and spices. They purchase several of their products from herbalist David Winston.
“Everyone is welcome,” Cesare said, “I want to encourage everyone to come in even if they don’t have knowledge in therapeutic herbalism, we have the resources to answer everyone’s questions.
