Men’s soccer struggles against Notre Dame

(THE PICKET) – The Shepherd Men’s soccer team’s record fell to 0-2 with a one-sided 5-1 loss to Notre Dame College Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The Shepherd offense struggled, only registering one shot on the day compared to Notre Dame’s 34.

The first goal of the game came in the 18th minute when Notre Dame’s Ryan Ware scored on a free kick from 30 yards out.

A penalty shot by Jeff Krammerer at the 21st minute mark tied the game at one until halftime.

The Falcons came out of halftime firing. Renan Troccoli scored the Falcon’s first of four goals after halftime one minute into the second half giving them a 2-1 lead.

The falcons netted another goal 10 minutes later when Troccoli headed in his second goal of the half. Leonardo Paiva made the score 4-1 Falcons when he scored his first goal of the game in the 69th minute.

Four minutes later Reymar Klochko-Khoo scored the fifth and final goal of the game.

The rams will play again in front of the home crowd Friday, Sept. 11, at 3:30 p.m. against Wheeling Jesuit University.
