Shepherd baseball sweeps Charleston

The Shepherd Rams’ baseball team was impressive over the weekend, sweeping Charleston in four games.

The Rams now control the top spot in the MEC standings.

Shepherd controlled all four games on offense and defense. As a team they outscored Charleston 41 to 8, stretching their win streak to 11 games.

At the plate the Rams had 31 hits in just one day of the double header.

Sophomore outfielder Jonathan Sarty led the way in game one, going three-for-four with three runs scored and three RBIs in game one. He also added a solo home run.

Junior reliever John Bentley pitched 4.2 innings, dealing out five strikeouts and allowing only one earned run.

The Rams have improved to 14-2 in the MEC with the four wins.

With the losses, Charleston falls to 4-10.
