Runners will line up Saturday in Shepherdstown for Freedom’s Run. The race will raise money for the Freedom’s Run community grant, which has raised money for Shepherdstown Fire and EMS as well as the Shepherdstown Elementary School.
A full marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. in Harpers Ferry, and the half marathon will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of German and King streets in Shepherdstown. The 10K race will begin at 8:50 a.m. on German Street and the 5K will begin on German Street at 9 a.m. At 11 a.m. the kid’s run will begin at the intersection of King and High streets.
A race after party is to begin at 10 a.m. at the Bavarian Inn. Runners will receive one free Yuengling in a Freedom’s Run pint glass. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available. Local musicians will be playing.
Registration is online at http://www.freedomsrun.org/ or at the Wellness Center beginning Friday at noon. Friday registrants will receive a T-Shirt.
